Today we talk about the Butterfly House Monteserra (La Casa delle Farfalle), the most important greenhouse in the southern Italy, located in Viagrande, in the province of Catania! It is a large living museum where you can admire hundreds of the most beautiful butterflies in the world.
It is a place entirely dedicated to these sheen animals and other insects, to scientific research and to environmental education. Moreover, the Butterfly House is located in the Monte Serra park, a protected natural area which is equipped with several attractions for adults and children.
In this structure there are a ski slope, a tubing track, several bike (or simply natural) trails and some picnic areas for an open-air lunch! In short, I think it’s a beautiful place to visit, just to have a break away from the rhythm of the city without going so far away from it.
